About Therapy

Create lasting change with hope and healing.

People seek therapy with me for all kinds of reasons. Some walk into therapy thinking they are finding a new friend they can vent to, someone who will listen because nobody else in their life will.

Others think that as a therapist, I will mediate an argument between them and their partner and then find a good compromise. Striving to pick up ideas for parenting and time management are other reasons for seeking therapy with me. Others enter therapy because they have lost hope and are looking for any reason to keep on going.

Therapy is so much MORE! Life is so much better when you can figure out the root of the problem, find healing in that space, and create real change that lasts and prevents these moments from continuing.

Rebuild confidence and move forward.

Therapy can be both challenging and rewarding, and your hard work often leads to meaningful changes in your life.

People often find that therapy brings unexpected insights and personal growth.

As we work together, you may discover strengths and resilience you didn’t know you had.

You’re not alone.

Navigating life’s challenges can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a compassionate and individualized approach to therapy, helping you address your unique concerns and goals. Together, we can work toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

In our sessions, you’ll find a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment. I strive to make each client feel comfortable and understood, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust and empathy. Over time, clients often experience increased self-awareness, improved coping strategies, and a greater sense of well-being.

Therapy with me is a collaborative and supportive process. I integrate various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, to address trauma and other challenges. I aim to create a safe space where clients feel heard and empowered to make meaningful life changes.

Let’s get to work together. Give me a call so we can start now!

About Sarah Smith, NCC, LPC, LIMHP, LADC

Becoming a therapist began in the classroom.

My first career was teaching high school math. While I loved algebra, I was more drawn to supporting students through their challenges. This passion led me to earn an MA in School Counseling, and I spent over five years as a school counselor. Later, I served as an assistant children’s pastor, working closely with families and reigniting my desire to help parents, especially mothers, navigate parenting and self-discovery.

In 2022, I completed my MS in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My internships included working with adolescents and adults in church settings, hospitals, and addiction recovery. I then spent two years in residential substance abuse treatment and taught classes for adult probation.

I am a National Board-Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Independent Mental Health Practitioner, and an Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

In private practice…

I focus on helping teens, young parents, and adults through life transitions, trauma recovery, stress management, and building healthy relationships.

I have the best job in the world – watching my clients learn about themselves, grow in their strengths, and start living the lives they deserve!

My life outside of work is complete.

When I’m not in my office or teaching classes, you’ll find me out with friends at dinner; at home with my crazy, chaotic family (husband, three kids, and three dogs!); or in bed watching Hallmark movies or crime/murder mysteries. We love hard, play hard, and rest well in our house.

I’m so excited to meet you and join you on your journey to find your best self and live your best life!
